NEW YORK — The Trump Organization has entered the telecom market by launching Trump Mobile, a new phone service and smartphone, in a bold business move announced on June 16. The highlight is the $499 “T1” smartphone, wrapped in a gold-colored metal case engraved with the American flag.
Along with the phone, the company introduced “The 47 Plan”, a monthly package priced at $47.45, named after Donald Trump’s current role as the 47th U.S. President. The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data, and also offers extra benefits like roadside assistance and telehealth services.
Speaking at Trump Tower, Donald Trump Jr. said the service would offer an all-in-one experience. “Customers will get telemedicine, roadside help, and international texting — all in one flat monthly fee,” he explained.
The Trump Organization emphasized that both the smartphones and customer service centers will be based in the United States, positioning Trump Mobile as a patriotic alternative to foreign-made phones and international brands like Apple and Samsung.
Additionally, DTTM Operations, the entity that handles Trump’s branding rights, has filed trademarks for “Trump Mobile” and “T1” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, signaling long-term plans for mobile-related ventures.
While this move expands the Trump brand’s reach into digital media and now telecom, experts point out that the industry is highly competitive and costly, making it a tough field for any new entrant to succeed in.
