Gunfire targets MQM-P leader’s home

The Madina Colony police have registered an FIR over a firing incident at the residence of Baldia Town Organiser of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) Faizan Jafri.

The incident occurred in the late hours on Friday, when unidentified gunmen opened fire at Jafri’s residence. The police found bullet marks on the wall of the house, and recovered five 9mm pistol shells from the scene.

The case, registered on the complaint of Jafri against unknown people, has been handed over to the investigation wing for further probe.

MQM-P’s central committee has strongly condemned the firing, recalling that just days ago, party member Ali Adeel from Liaquatabad Town was martyred in a terrorist attack. The committee termed the recent assault as yet another alarming incident that raises serious concerns about the performance of Sindh Police in maintaining peace and order.

The committee demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and strict legal action against those responsible for the attack.

Meanwhile, an Anti-Terrorism Court has issued bailable arrest warrants for MQM leader Ahmed Ali, who is accused in a case of money laundering and illegal transactions worth billions of rupees.
