Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman will present the Punjab budget on June 16. Before that, the budget will be approved by the Punjab cabinet in a special meeting, Punjab Assembly Secretariat sources said on Sunday. Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman will submit the budget that will reflect the development vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. No new taxes will be imposed in the budget. Collection of already imposed taxes will be ensured, they said, adding effective use of provincial assets will be a priority to increase resources. Education, health, and social security projects will be prioritized. The rights of women, children, disabled people, and workers will be protected. Likewise, technical and financial assistance will be provided to small and medium-sized businesses and the Kissan Card will be made more effective. The budget will be based on the principles of economic development, transparency, and social security, they added.
