KARACHI – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an early warning predicting rain and thunderstorms in Karachi and various districts of Sindh on Monday and Tuesday.
According to the PMD, areas on the outskirts of Karachi may experience rainfall with thunder on Monday night or Tuesday. Gusty winds are also expected in peripheral regions, especially during rainfall on Tuesday.
The forecast indicates that a westerly weather system is currently influencing the upper regions of Pakistan. At the same time, moisture-laden winds are entering the eastern parts of Sindh, creating conditions suitable for rain and thunderstorms.
As a result, light to moderate showers with thunder are likely in Ghotki, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, and Shaheed Benazirabad. Additional rainfall is expected between June 16 and 17 in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Hyderabad, and other nearby districts.
Despite the rain forecast, Karachi is expected to remain hot and humid over the next three days, with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures may rise between 36°C and 38°C, while humidity could reach up to 80% in the morning and drop to 55% by evening.
Meanwhile, other parts of the country, including Murree, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore, may experience isolated dust storms and thundershowers. Kashmir is also likely to see scattered rainfall, continuing through Monday under the ongoing weather system.
