Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar hints at ending collaborations with Humayun Saeed

LAHORE – Renowned writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has suggested that he may no longer work with actor and producer Humayun Saeed, signaling a possible end to their long-standing professional partnership.

During a recent appearance on Naeem Hanif’s Eid special show, Qamar expressed reservations about future collaborations with Saeed. He acknowledged their past hits such as Mere Paas Tum Ho, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, and London Nahi Jaunga, but hinted that working together might not continue as a regular practice.

The writer admitted feeling “nervous” about teaming up with Saeed again, marking a notable change from his previous support, where he often praised Saeed’s performances and cast him in leading roles. However, Qamar didn’t cite any specific conflict but left room for speculation.

Qamar is known for his bold statements. When asked about Mahira Khan, he firmly said he could never forgive her for past remarks about him. Despite this, he confirmed she is acting in one of his upcoming films due to her suitability for the role.

He also commented on the entertainment industry, stating that artists should remain true to themselves rather than putting on a false persona. “One should always portray their inner self,” he remarked during the show.

While no official fallout has been confirmed, fans are now speculating whether this signals a permanent break between two of Pakistan’s most successful creative forces in film and television.
