Former England and Manchester United footballer David Beckham has received a knighthood, the UK government website reports.
The former player was made a “Sir” on the occasion of King Charles III’s official birthday . The release celebrated Beckham’s achievements as a footballer and his charitable work.
Beckham is 50 years old. As a footballer, he played for Manchester United , Real Madrid , Milan , Los Angeles Galaxy and PSG. As part of the Red Devils, the midfielder became a six-time English champion , a two-time winner of the English Cup, and a winner of the Champions League . With Real Madrid, he became the champion of La Liga and the winner of the Spanish Super Cup , with PSG – the champion of France , with Galaxy – a two-time winner of the North American Major League Soccer ( MLS ). He also has 115 matches and 17 goals scored as part of the England national team.
Beckham currently serves as a co-owner of MLS club Inter Miami.
