Sindh Govt awards scholarships to 596 minority students

Minorities Affairs Department, Government of Sindh Resumes Scholarship Program After Two Years, The Department, held a scholarship distribution ceremony in Karachi, awarding cheques worth PKR 50,000 each to 596 students belonging to minority communities.

The event took place at the office of the Secretary of Minority Affairs. Dr. Lalchand Ukrani, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Minority Affairs and President of the PPP Minority Wing Sindh, attended the event as the chief guest. Also, present were Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Human Rights Rajveer Singh Sodho, MPAs Sham Sundar Advani and Anil Kumar Ratnani, Secretary Anjum Iqbal Jumani, and Director Aslam Khoso.

In his address, Dr. Lalchand Ukrani congratulated the scholarship recipients and emphasized the Sindh Government’s commitment to the welfare and development of minority communities. “After a two-year gap, the Department of Minority Affairs has successfully resumed its scholarship program,” he said. He added that the scholarship amount was increased from PKR 25,000 to PKR 50,000 on the recommendation of the Sindh Non-Muslim Welfare Committee.
