Senator Danesh Kumar questions surge of advisors in senate, demands transparency

Senator Danesh Kumar has expressed serious concerns about the growing number of advisors and consultants in the Senate. He wrote a letter to Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani demanding detailed information on official trips and the roles of these advisors.

In his letter, Senator Kumar pointed out that many responsibilities of senators are being assigned to these advisors. He requested full details about the number of advisors, their qualifications, appointments, and benefits.

He also asked for complete records of senators’ foreign trips over the past year. Senator Kumar said there is worry among senators due to a lack of transparency in these trips. He noted that advisors often play a bigger role than senators during official visits.

Furthermore, Senator Kumar criticized the appointment process, saying advisors are sometimes included in delegations based on personal connections, not experience. He urged for full disclosure of the advisors’ roles and related details.
