Eid ul Adha to be celebrated across Pakistan on june 7

ISLAMABAD – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee officially announced that Eid ul Azha will be celebrated across Pakistan on Friday, June 7, 2025, as the Zilhajj moon was sighted on Tuesday evening. The announcement came after the committee held its meeting in Karachi under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad. Representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO, and other key institutions also attended the session.

Following confirmation of multiple moon sightings from different regions, the committee declared June 7 as the 10th of Zilhajj, marking the day of Eid ul Azha. Soon after the announcement, social media buzzed with congratulatory messages as citizens began preparations for the holy festival.

Eid ul Azha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. Muslims across the country will offer sacrificial animals and distribute meat among the poor, neighbors, and relatives.

Meanwhile, local administrations in major cities have finalized arrangements for Eid prayers, sanitation, and disposal of animal waste. Special security measures have also been planned to ensure peaceful celebrations and smooth traffic flow around prayer grounds and cattle markets.

With Eid approaching, markets are witnessing increased activity as families shop for clothing, meat processing tools, and other essentials. Authorities have urged citizens to follow hygiene guidelines and maintain civic responsibility during the festivities.
