In light of the current wartime situation, Pakistan Railways (PR) has been placed on high alert across the country, with special trains allocated for the movement of armed forces. These specially designated trains will allow the military to swiftly and securely move personnel and essential supplies to key locations. The strategic move is intended to support the armed forces during critical operations. CEO of Pakistan Railways, Aamir Ali Baloch, confirmed in an interview that the railway authorities are in constant contact with the armed forces to provide transportation services as needed. “Rolling stock, including wagons, coaches, and engines, has been set aside for military use. We are prepared to mobilize these resources within a short period, whenever requested,” Baloch stated, ensuring that they are ready to assist in the movement of troops and equipment. Despite the heightened security and military readiness, Pakistan Railways assured that the regular passenger and freight train services will continue as usual. So far, there have been no disruptions in these services. However, in anticipation of airspace restrictions and potential flight suspensions, railway stations have been placed on high alert, and additional security measures have been implemented for the safety of passengers who may need to rely on trains instead of air travel. Moreover, all major railway stations and trains are undergoing enhanced security checks, and surveillance systems have been strengthened to ensure the protection of both military personnel and civilians. The ongoing operations aim to minimize any disruption to national transportation, facilitating the movement of both citizens and the military during these tense times.
