In an alarming yet familiar move, India has once again turned its soil into a stage for geopolitical theatrics, launching airstrikes inside Jammu and then hastily pinning the blame on Pakistan. This frenzy coincided with a coordinated media blitz and an all-day offensive narrative. By sundown, Pakistan’s armed forces had intercepted no fewer than 25 Israeli-made drones launched from across the border. The choreography remains unmistakable: create chaos, strike within, blame without. From the suspiciously timed Pulwama attack in 2019 to the much-hyped Balakot airstrike that hit little more than trees, India’s chequered history is littered with false flag operations and internal escalations rebranded as external threats. With elections on the horizon and Modi’s popularity facing headwinds, the timing of these “retaliatory” claims is too convenient to be a coincidence. As always, Pakistan is cast as the villain in a poorly produced drama; one that plays well on Indian television but unravels under even the slightest international scrutiny. India’s latest strikes reek of desperation. And (although we’ve said this again and again) the real weapon is misinformation. There are enough signs in the international coverage that show how Indian officials rushed to conclusions without presenting evidence with the sole purpose of flooding the region with disinformation, fuelling hysteria, and provoking panic within Pakistan. But the real danger lies in our own willingness to buy their propaganda. In an age where fake news spreads faster than facts, many social media platforms–wittingly or otherwise–have become echo chambers for Indian propaganda. This erosion of public trust, this internal noise, is exactly what the enemy seeks. We cannot let it happen. There could not have been a more critical moment to stand united and reaffirm trust in the vigilance, capability, and restraint of our armed forces. Because our military doesn’t operate on impulse, we need to wait and see how it acts with precision and national interest at heart. Pakistan does not need to match India’s hysteria; it needs to expose its lies. Let India set fire to its credibility. Pakistan must hold the line. We need to resist the pull of panic, reject external narratives, and remember: psychological warfare only works when we surrender our confidence. Pakistan’s defence is not just at the border. It’s just as important to keep the spirit alive in the minds of its people. Let’s keep both strong. *
