KARACHI: The Sindh Rangers on Monday claimed to have arrested a Lyari gang war member, Mumtaz Ali, during a targeted raid in Madina Colony on Monday. According to Rangers’ spokesperson, the accused was allegedly involved in target killing, extortion, robberies and others crimes. Separately, Rangers’ conducted search operations in Awami Colony, PIB Colony, Zaman Town and Saudabad areas and arrested 10 street criminals, Muhammad Usman, Masood, Muhammad Farhan, Asad Chandio, Khalil Ahmed, Fazal Subahan, Mutiullah, Haris Ali, Muhammad Faraz and Abdul Ghani. Meanwhile, the Rangers carried out targeted raids in Darkhshan, Awami Colony and Saudabad areas and detained five drug peddlers, Amanullah Khan, Muhammad, Khalid, Imran and Nawaz Ali. The Rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons and drugs from them. They would be handed over to police for further investigation,” said Rangers. Separately, a man was stabbed to death over a dispute in Landhi area on Monday. According to rescue sources, a 35-year-old man, Rais, was stabbed to death over a dispute in Quaidabad area of Landhi. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. Published in Daily Times, October 24th 2017.
