The University of Management and Technology (UMT) hosted a special seminar titled “HER LEGACY” focused on women empowerment. The event was jointly organized by the Women Institute of Learning and Leadership (WILL) and The Lawgical. During the seminar, the launch of the book “Ilm, Amal, Zindagi” (Knowledge, Action, Life), a biography on the life and contributions of UMT’s founder Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad (Shaheed), was also held. The seminar’s distinguished guests included Chairperson of the Child Protection Bureau Ms. Sarah Ahmad, MPA Ms. Hina Parvez Butt, PPP Central Additional Secretary Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Badr and Chairperson of WILL Dr. Naushaba Hasan Murad. The event saw active participation from individuals across various professional fields, including prominent women entrepreneurs and young business leaders. The aim was to highlight the challenges women face in achieving empowerment and to propose practical solutions. MPA Hina Parvez Butt congratulated UMT on successfully organizing the event and said, “A society cannot progress without empowering its women. She said that women are the true heroes and they must speak up against injustice. We will ensure strict action against crimes against children and women.” Zulfiqar Ali Badr commended UMT for its services in education and said, “Dr. Noushaba and Ibrahim Murad are admirably continuing the legacy of Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad. We must develop a comprehensive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs to cultivate leadership skills like mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Shaheed” Sarah Ahmad praised women entrepreneurs and emphasized collective efforts in empowering women. “The Child Protection Bureau is not only educating women but also equipping them with practical skills,” she said. “Through our efforts, women and children are becoming skilled contributors in various sectors.” Chairperson of WILL, Dr. Naushaba Hasan Murad, welcomed all guests and emphasized the need for a sustainable development-based strategy for women’s empowerment. “WILL is dedicated to preparing women to overcome the challenges they face in their pursuit of growth,” she stated. She also highlighted UMT’s ongoing commitment to quality education and its role in addressing social issues. Successful and empowered women from different fields also shared their journeys and insights. The event concluded with Dr. Noushaba Hasan Murad distributing certificates to the distinguished guests.
