Pakistan women’s cricket team will not travel to India for world cup, says PCB chairman

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, declared that the Pakistan women’s cricket team will not make the trip to India for the World Cup. He stated that this decision had already been finalized through an existing agreement. Naqvi communicated this during a media interaction after meeting the women’s cricket team at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Naqvi emphasized that India, as the host nation, will determine where the matches will be held. He mentioned that the team is ready to play anywhere except in India. The PCB Chairman acknowledged the performance of the women’s team and stated that successful results come when the team plays cohesively.

He also noted that ongoing changes within the team had contributed to their improved performance. Naqvi expressed optimism that similar results would be seen from other teams, including the Under-19 Shaheens and the national team. Looking ahead, he mentioned that important decisions regarding the national team would be made soon.

Furthermore, Naqvi congratulated the women’s team for qualifying for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. He praised their outstanding performance in the tournament and announced rewards for the players. He expressed confidence that they would maintain their impressive performance in the upcoming World Cup.
