LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a herbal factory in the Farooq Industrial Estate for producing substandard jam and honey during a crackdown on adulteration of food on Saturday. In a separate raid, the authority also sealed a tomato ketchup production unit in Hajveri Town over non-compliance of the laid down laws. The raids were led by PFA Additional Director General (Operations) Rafia Haider on the special directives of PFA Director General Noorul Amin Mengal. During the raids, the PFA disposed of 4,500kg jam, 6,000kg rotten fruits and 3,000kg substandard honey. Additional Director General Rafia Haider said that substandard jam, honey and ketchup were to be supplied to different shops. Published in Daily Times, October 22nd 2017.
