The four-day Conference on the theme of Promoting Global Citizenship in Education (GCED) is being held at Punjab Education Curriculum Training & Assessment Authority (PECTAA) Headquarters Auditorium, Wahdat Road, Lahore from 14th to 17th April. The Conference is being held with collaboration of Punjab School Education Department, UNESCO, Asia Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU), and Punjab Education Curriculum Training & Assessment Authority (PECTAA). CEO PECTAA Shahinsha Faisal Azeem said that this confrence includes a Training Workshop on promoting Global Citizenship in Education. Shahinsha Faisal Azeem told that the international experts on Global Citizenship including Prof. Kevin Andrew Jason Kester (Seoul National University), Dr. Kevin Esther Care (University of Melbourne), Leah Espalardo (PETA) along with Eom Jeongmin and Kim Heasoo (UNESCO Asia Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding) will engage with local participants to enhance their abilities to understand and effectively incorporate different aspects of global citizenship. Shahinsha Faisal Azeem added that the Workshop is a part of the three-year plan (2024-2026) to promote global citizenship in education under United Nations Sustainable Deveopment Goal (SDG) 4.7 that aims at education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity. PECTAA CEO also added that Eminent national educationists and local experts in this field have been invited to attend the inauguration session on 14th April. Rana Sikander Hayat, Minister for Education Punjab, will also participate as lead discussant in one session on 16th, and will also be the Chief Guest in the concluding ceremony. said CEO PECTAA.
