The Director General of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore chapter Mr. Amjad Majeed Aulakh underscores NAB Lahore’s unwavering commitment to combating corruption and ensuring transparency in the real estate industry. In a groundbreaking move, NAB Lahore has successfully eradicated the open file system, a long-standing menace in the housing sector. This significant achievement has paved the way for a more transparent and accountable system, where societies will allocate plots or flats based on security papers issued by the Government of Punjab and RUDA. He was addressing a monthly open court session here in NAB Lahore in which more than 200 affectees of real estate sector and cheating public matters participated for redressal of their grievances. The affectees of cheating public cases included Prime Zone scandal, ForU real traders, Bold vision and housing sector’s affectees included Omega Housing Society, Khayaban-i-Ameen Housing Society, Qasim Garden, and Grand Avenue Housing project. Addressing the affectees of Khayabani-Ameen Housing society, DG NAB elevorated that, so far, 400 affectees have successfully been settled in terms of plots or flats to the satisfaction of complainants. However, the society administration has completed 75 percent of development work under the supervision of NAB team. In response to the concerns raised by affectees regarding cancelled plots by the said authorities, DG NAB made a clear statement that the process of formulating a comprehensive policy to address the issue of canceled plots and flats is in making. This policy will provide a framework for resolving disputes and ensuring that affectees receive fair compensation. Addressing the grievances faced by ForU real traders, DG NAB Lahore stated that the Lahore Bureau has received an overwhelming response from affectees, with over 894 claims registered to date. In addition, 100 affectees have been issued call-up notices by NAB marking a significant milestone in the investigation process. The matter has been taken from NAB Karachi to NAB Lahore as per the request of the claimants.
