There has been significant progress in the initiative to allot plots to 3,200 journalists in Lahore, announced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The Punjab Information Department and the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the transfer of land. On this occasion, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari stated that for the first time in Punjab’s history, 3,200 journalists would be allotted plots based on merit. The process for Phase Two of the Journalists Housing Scheme will be completed in the next few days. She added that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is fulfilling her promise of providing homes to the 3,200 journalists of Lahore. All plots will be allotted strictly on merit, and no recommendations will be accepted in this regard. As per the Chief Minister’s directive, the issue of Block-F has also been resolved. Secretary Information Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani and CEO RUDA Imran Ameen signed the MOU. On this occasion, Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari, Additional Secretary of Admin Saleem Sagar, and retired Colonel Abid were also present. Forms for Lahore Press Club council members will be available at the Press Club, while non-council members can obtain them from the DGPR Lahore.
