In a significant move to reassure the public, Utility Stores Corporation (USC) spokesman Inayat Ullah Daula on Saturday announced that the corporation will henceforth adhere to stringent quality standards for all items sold in its stores, in line with Prime Minister’s directives and ensure that citizens will have access to reliable and unadulterated food items with zero tolerance for compromise on quality.
The USC’s quality assurance measures are part of a broader initiative to revamp the public utility stores and make them more responsive to citizen needs, he said while talking to the PTV News.
Inayat Ullah Daula said that with the Prime Minister’s directives, USC aims to transform its stores into reliable hubs for essential commodities, free from adulteration and substandard products.
He emphasized that the USC is taking concrete steps to enforce quality control measures, including regular inspections, testing, and certification of products. The corporation is also engaging with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with quality standards and errant suppliers will face penalties, he added.
The spokesman assured citizens that USC is committed to transparency and accountability in its operations, inviting public feedback and suggestions to further improve the quality and services offered by the utility stores. With these measures, the USC aims to regain public trust and establish itself as a reliable provider of quality goods to citizens, he mentioned.
Responding a query, he said that the Prime Minister has directed the preparation of a comprehensive relief package at Utility Stores, focusing on five essential kitchen items. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden on citizens by offering subsidized rates on staple commodities, he added. The package will ensure uninterrupted availability of these vital items, including wheat flour, rice, sugar, ghee, and pulses at discounted prices, he highlighted. To guarantee the success of this endeavor, the Prime Minister has emphasized zero tolerance for negligence, instructing the Utility Stores Corporation to maintain stringent quality control measures and ensure seamless supply chains, he remarked.
This relief package is a testament to the government’s commitment to public welfare, prioritizing the needs of citizens and providing them with accessible and affordable essential items, he concluded.
