KARACHI: International conference on eye, ‘KAROPHTH 2017’ which will be held next week in Karachi will provide an opportunity to ophthalmologists to share their experiences, organizers said Saturday. The conference will be held in Karachi from August 18- 20 in collaboration with Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan (OSP), Karachi. “As many as 15 international speakers will participate out of which ten will be from China,” Dr Wasiq Qazi, executive member OSP told Daily Times. As many as 75 top ophthalmologists from all over the country would also attend the meeting, he added. According to organizing committee that comprises notable ophthalmologists Dr Tariq Aziz, Professor Saeed Iqbal and Professor P S Mahar informed that a delegation of Chinese ophthalmologists will feature in conference. “The Chinese ophthalmologists will participate in the conference for the first time, under the umbrella of ‘Pak-China Medical Corridor’. Apart from Chinese experts, delegates from Malaysia, Hong Kong and USA would also attend the conference,” they said. Along the sidelines of the conference, a scientific modern exhibition will also be held where modern equipment regarding ophthalmology will feature in the conference. “The conference is the best opportunity for ophthalmologists to share their experience regarding different fields of eye including cornea, eye banking, and medical education,” Dr Qazi added.
