Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday has extended interim pre-arrest bail granted to Pakistan People’s Party’s leader and former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and others in Rs5.75 billion corruption reference till May 11, 2017.
A division bench of the court also heard the bail plea of the former Sindh minister and other accused Salman Mansoor, Inam Akbar, Gulzar Ali and others.
The court extended the interim bail of the accused till August 23rd.
The court directed the counsels of the applicants to advance arguments on the plea for confirmation of bail in next hearing.
Sharjeel Inam Memon, Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani, Mansoor Ahmed and others are the accused in the Rs5 billion corruption case.
The NAB had filed a corruption reference against Memon, other information department officials and advertising companies’ representatives for corruption and embezzlements in the process of award of contracts worth over Rs 5 billion for official Sindh government awareness campaigns for the electronic media.
