LAHORE: Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar, addressing the National Assembly on Wednesday, expressed his views over United States President Donald Trump’s remarks. He said that the matter should be taken seriously and US should be confronted about Trump’s allegations. Calling out Trump’s remarks as insulting to Pakistan’s dignity and honour, Nisar demanded that the US present proof of Pakistan being an alleged hideout for terrorists in the region. He also asked for a complete audit of the US aid given to Pakistan in the past 10 years and expressed disappointment over a lack of official reply from Pakistan to the US following Trump’s allegations. “We have sold Pakistan’s honour for a few dollars,” Nisar said. Nisar accused the US of harbouring double standards in the matter of holding negotiations with the Taliban, referring to the time when the same option was suggested by Pakistan and the US responded bitterly.
