A Polio virus has been confirmed in a nine-month old child in Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to spokesperson of the Ministry of Health on Saturday, with this fresh case, the number of polio cases in the country this year has increased to six. He said that the confirmation of polio virus in 20 environmental samples from 12 districts of the country was alarming. The virus has affected another child of our country, he said and added that children under the age of five were especially at risk from this virus. He urged the parents to give polio drops to their children to protect them from polio virus. A security official told APP on Saturday that the terrorist has made important revelations and on his confessions, a huge cache of explosives used in detonators, explosive materials and arms was recovered from Khyber. The TTP terrorists were planning terrorist attacks in Peshawar that was foiled after the successful operation. The official said that Pakistan Army would not allow anti-state element to succeed and operation would continue till elimination of the last terrorist. The Counter Terrorism Department took a timely action by failing an attempt of terrorism and successfully arrested Suliaman of Mardan during a joint operation by security forces and CTD here on Saturday. On identifying the arrested terrorist, a large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered, said an official of the CTD. Gunpowder was hidden in drums to plan a terrorist attack in the City.
