Pakistan Young Innovative Mind Society (PYIMS) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the 36th International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT 2023), hosted for the first time in Pakistan. Over the course of nine thrilling days, young physicists from around the world gathered in Queen of Mountains – Murree, Pakistan, to engage in thought-provoking physics challenges and showcase their exceptional talents on a global stage. The tournament kicked off with great enthusiasm during the grand opening ceremony, where PYIMS extended a warm welcome to all the participating countries, teams, mentors, and distinguished guests from different corners of the world. The ceremony was a true celebration of scientific inquiry and international collaboration, setting the stage for a memorable and inspiring event. During the physics fights, the heart of the tournament, the brilliant young minds went head-to-head, presenting their meticulously researched solutions to complex physics problems. Each team displayed unparalleled analytical skills, critical thinking, and ingenuity, captivating audiences, and judges alike. In addition to the competitive aspect of IYPT 2023, participants also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage through the Excursions thoughtfully organized by PYIMS. The excursions provided an unforgettable experience, fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendships that transcended borders and enriched the spirit of camaraderie. The 36th IYPT came to a fitting finale with the spectacular closing ceremony at the Faletti’s Grand Hotel, Murree, where the exceptional talent of the participants was recognized and honored. Eminent scientists, educators, and leaders in the field of physics graced the occasion, commending the young physicists for their dedication to scientific exploration and exemplary teamwork. It is with great pride that we announce the winners of IYPT 2023. The defending champion, Poland, once again showcased their brilliance and emerged as the 1st position holder, proving their unparalleled mastery in physics problem-solving. Slovakia demonstrated exceptional talent and secured the 2nd Position, while Thailand’s remarkable performance secured them 3rd position. “We are thrilled to have hosted the 36th International Young Physicists’ Tournament in Pakistan and to witness the outstanding talents of these young physicists,” said Professor Dr. Farida Tahir, President of PYIMS. “This event has not only advanced the cause of science education but has also fostered meaningful connections among future scientists and leaders from diverse backgrounds.”
