Sir: People are leaving Pakistan in droves. It is not merely a craze to settle abroad but a feeling of resentment toward the prevailing system. Every bright student looks forward to move abroad for higher studies but he or she seldom wants to come back to Pakistan to settle down. Lack of opportunities and nepotism have snatched the quality of life from a common person. A person with no contacts and networking ends up being a commoner. Blackmailing in job markets is rampant, with the result that sharp minds are leaving Pakistan. Unemployment is another reason for the incessant supply of labour to foreign lands. It is a matter of serious concern and the government of Pakistan should take notice of this national loss. RABIA M ABIDKarachi
