Sir: Etesalat is a major stakeholder in the telecommunication service in Pakistan. It was wrongly hoped that under Etesalat, as the quality of service improved, the customer would be satisfied. However, it proved the opposite. The telecommunication link between Chitral KP and the rest of the world gets disrupted frequently every month. For the last two months, Etesalat has only managed to give service for two days. One of the reasons being given is that the repeater is out of order. It is also believed that the PTCL infrastructure has been badly damaged due to overloading of DSL connections. Whatever the case, it is the responsibility of Etesalat to provide regular, prompt and uninterrupted service to its consumers of landline, WLL and DSL in Chitral. BASHIR HUSSAIN AZAD Chitral
