Sir: Pakistan has become a country where the good are punished for being good. Since there has been an increase in the number of bank accounts, the government has enforced a Rs 58 charge on all online transactions. Online banking is free all over the world, as it costs almost nothing to the bank, giving easy access to banks to help secure a financial record that comes handy in preventing corruption and keeping tax money in the loop. However, charging people on online transactions would create new class of tax evaders. If the government has lost perspective in this case, I would expect the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan to act wisely and eliminate such an absurd policy. SHAHRYAR KHAN BASEER Peshawar
