Sir: People of Karachi regularly pay taxes, utility bills, and other liabilities but the quality of life of a middle and lower middle class person has gone from bad to worse. Frequent power breakdowns have made our lives miserable. On top of that we are made to pay for units that we never consume due to load shedding. It seems as if there is nobody to take care of the citizens and solve their problems. The authorities have not paid any attention to the repeated requests of the residents of Karachi. There is a limit to everything. Once the public crosses the threshold of tolerance, it would be difficult for the government to contain it. I am sure this agony is going to force the present government out of office. It is time they wake up and become the real managers of this country. AREEBA HUSSAIN Karachi
