Sir: Shahrah-e-Faisal, known as the main artery of Karachi’s road network, is dotted with high-rise buildings, shopping malls, banks and business centres. Developments in the name of construction have failed to take care of an important issue that has rendered people living and commuting on this road helpless and at times frustrated. The parking issue has not been planned and is at times uncoordinated with the capacity provided to park vehicles. Most of the time service lanes are packed with parked cars, making it impossible for commuters to move. On top of this, motorcyclists are allowed to park vehicles at their whim. I request the city government, if there is any, to look into the matter and not only restrict themselves to taking parking fees, leaving the rest on the will of God. MARIAM HAMEED Karachi
