Sir: Mothers Day is celebrated to honour mothers. It is a day to remember that this entire world is bound to a relationship that is selfless and undemanding. Every year Mothers Day is celebrated throughout the world, though on different months and days. Some celebrate it in March, some in April while the majority observe it in May. Mothers Day holds great significance for all of us. Have we ever thought about the purpose of celebrating this day? Is it meant to give significance to a mother merely for one day? Every child tries to celebrate this day in his/her own way. The purpose of celebrating Mothers Day is to remember that there is a person who becomes a cause for our arrival into this world, who gives us identity and makes us what we are. This day is also a reminder to mothers that they shoulder a great responsibility of building a nation. If mothers work on their children, educate them, give them good moral and social values, and strengthen their characters by becoming role models for them, a vacuum of leadership would not emerge in any nation. The impression that a mother leaves on the mind of her child guides the latter throughout life. Motherhood is an important job and so is being a good, obedient, and reliable child.
