Sir: According to a news report, a ‘UK girl saved eight lives by organ donation.’ A 13-year-old, British schoolgirl, Jemima Layzell in London, who died due to a brain haemorrhage, had always wished to donate organs and save precious lives. She saved the lives of eight people by donating her organs to five children and three adults. Jemima’s eye tissue has helped restore the vision of two people. In addition, she saved the lives of two adults aged 19 and 24 by donating them her kidneys. A 42-year-old man got her pancreas. Jemima had talked to the organ donors before she breathed her last. She indeed has left a legacy behind and an example in the world. May God rest her soul in peace and award her the best place in heaven. S AUSAF HUSSAIN Karachi
