Sir: We have been hearing a lot regarding the fraudulent nature of the investment of the EOBI funds in different schemes. The EOBI is spending millions of rupees for publicity, while the pensioners of EOBI are getting peanuts in the name of ‘old age benefit’. In the 2011-2012 budget, a 20 percent increment was announced for the EOBI pensioners but like other promises of the PPP, nothing has been given to pensioners to date. How can the EOBI pensioners survive on an income of Rs3,000 per month? It must increase the pension to at least Rs 6,000 per month. NASIM AHMED Karachi
