Sir: Teenagers have taken the law into their own hands and have started following western culture. We now see things permeating into our society that we never knew existed before. These days, two battles are going on: one between our leaders and the other between our teenagers who are the children of these leaders and are following in the footsteps of their parents. People have lost their care for human life and their hearts have turned to stone. We have lost the brotherhood we once had. These days, human beings are dying of simple things such as thirst and hunger, just like animals, but one thing western people have is that they respect lives, so much so that they do not let a single animal die without trying their level best to save that creature. One only gets life once; we should not fight over small matters and not feel bad over the success of others. We ourselves should work hard to achieve the same goal instead of bringing down other people. We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools. We should be one to stand against thousands. Some people die trying but it is hard to fight when the fight is not fair. We humans are blessed with intelligence and the strength to pull others closer to ourselves. ZOHA NAVEED Via e-mail
