Sir: I fail to understand the logic behind the Islamabad traffic police’s (ITP) ridiculous decision to set up random roadblocks on the far-right lane of both sides of the Islamabad highway. It is common sense that the far-right lane is for high-speed vehicles to use while overtaking slower vehicles in the middle lane. The random placement of these roadblocks is not only causing disruption in the flow of traffic, but is also increasing the risk of high speed accidents as motorists swerve into the busy middle lane to avoid the barriers. It is probably high time that the ITP receive some basic training in traffic management.
