Releasing the Taliban

Sir: I wonder how it is possible to deal with terrorists. Peace deals with those who do not even know about peace? During the unrest in Swat, many young and innocent people ended their lives because of these terrorists between 2007 and 2013. After the peace deal with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, they spread their network to Dir and Buner, the nearby districts of Swat. I am one hundred percent sure that these terrorists will never keep their promise. Just see how they enjoy killing innocent people in the name of Islam. If the solution to every problem is war and amassing weapons then why call for all this nonsense? After making some foolish decisions, the people will throw down their pens and will pick up weapons.

Today, Pakistan has released a most wanted terrorist who has killed many people in Afghanistan and Pakistan since 1994; he is Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, born in the Uruzgan province of Afghanistan. In 1968, according to Interpol, he helped to found the Taliban movement in 1994 and, later on, they took control of all of Afghanistan.

Mullah Baradar developed a reputation as a military strategist and became deputy leader of the Taliban government in Afghanistan; he is very close to Mullah Omar, as his sister is said to be the wife of the Taliban commander. Mullah Baradar has been subject to UN sanctions including the freezing of assets and a travel ban. Having all the above ‘qualities’, the Pakistani government has released him.
