Karachi’s youth slipping into drug abuse

Sir: I was taking a stroll along the seaside recently when I sniffed a mixture of different types of smells. At first, I thought that it have been must coming from the sewerage system, which runs down to the ocean but then I noticed a bunch of youngsters sitting in a circle with a thick cloud of smoke hanging above them. One of them looked at me and I could clearly see from his eyes that he was not fully in his senses. What is happening to our youth? Is there no one to guide these naïve children who are still minors that they are slipping into drug abuse? Why was the police officer, standing 20 yards from this group, just standing there and not taking any action? Drug use among the youth has increased and this increase is also directly responsible for the escalation in the crime rate. I hope this letter catches the attention of those parents who are unaware about their children using drugs.
