Sir: Pakistan seems to be a global leader when it comes to annual holidays. Almost every month there is one or another holiday. Either as a nation we have a lot of time on our hands or we do not value time as such. The misconception of saving energy should not become a reason for closing offices for more time than what is reasonable. The simplest is what Saudi Arabia does: the country takes a week off on each of the Eids. The only other holiday is the national day. I urge the government to simplify this matter and not make it complicated by just following Saudi Arabia. It should take the bold decision of having only one week off on each Eid and 14th August, making a total of 15 holidays a year. Pakistan, in its current state of crisis, needs each of its citizens working more than ever before.
