Sir: I recently had the opportunity to meet several people, both common and influential. I met pirs, politicians, everyday men and women, and corrupt provincial functionaries during the Eid holidays at different places in my home district of Larkano. Every person I came across talked about health, happiness and prosperity but unfortunately, our rulers have done nothing concrete for the people to have these things. Despite a plethora of problems being faced by them, I found that they looked at the sunny side of everything. They thought only of the best, worked only for the best and expected only the best. I found that they had forgotten the past mistakes and injustices against each other, offering everyone a smile. They were all satisfied with their lives.
On the contrary, the ruling elite and the influential lot were found criticising each other — they did not think to improve their district and its towns and villages but were found wasting time over non-productive activities, doing nothing worthwhile for the common people. I can honestly say that the poor, destitute, deprived and denied people of my country, my home province and those of my home district of Larkano are really great but our ruling elite must learn to be great. For this to happen they have to change their thinking and, thus, their lives.
