Sir: Nowadays, security has become a basic need due to global terrorism. Thousands of people have been killed just because of security lapses. The world’s security has changed and the way of life of the people has also changed because terrorism is on the rise. Security systems are expanding in the world. The department of customs is the backbone of any country’s security. If customs work properly, nobody would be able to do anything illegal. The positive thing is that the customs’ drug enforcement cell’s (DEC) Karachi airport unit is doing its job without a shadow of a doubt. The DEC staff recently recovered heroin from PIA flight PK-787 departing for London. If the flight had departed without recovering the heroin, then it would have been another embarrassing incident for Pakistan.
