Sir: Regrettably, Pakistani society has become synonymous with exploitation, corruption, frustration and many other evils. The concepts of social justice, equality and service delivery are alien in this society. It is impossible to live, survive and get things done expeditiously in our unjust and biased society, particularly when dealing with the accountant general, auditor general’s office at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), which is just one of the many offices in the private and public sector that will drive you crazy. It is essential to have the qaroon’s treasure, the patience of the Prophet Hazrat Ayub (Job) and the lifespan of the Prophet Noah if you want to get anything done. Is there anyone to take notice of this red-tapism and take pragmatic steps to make our public sector and other organisations service-oriented, and our society a place that cares for humans?
