Sir: The Liberty Market Lahore roundabout-cum-park, sponsored by a foreign bank, has lost its utility because of massive traffic increase. The traffic flowing to the roundabout from all the four sides has resulted in a number of fatal accidents besides creating traffic chaos. The pedestrians are equally hard put to cross roads and have been found pleading with the traffic wardens to help them do it. Traffic jams and honking create atmospheric pollution, making people more sick, both physically and psychologically. The chief minister Punjab has shown concern about fuel wastage and has done wonders on expanding and modernising Ferozepur Road. I strongly suggest that all such large roundabouts are done in to facilitate a smooth flow of traffic. Ibne Saleem Lahore
