MIAMI: The Florida nightclub shooting, that left two dead and almost 16 injured early on Monday, was ‘not an act of terror’, police said. Fort Myers Police identified the two killed as 14-year-old Shawn Achilles and 18-year-old Ste’fan Strawder, who was described by local media as a star high school basketball player. Police officials said that the shooting’s motive was unclear but was ‘definitely not an act of terror or terrorism’. The incident happened in the parking lot of Club Blu in Fort Myers at around 12am local time. The Fort Myers Police Department confirmed that two other scenes were also connected to the incident and a person of interest was detained at one of them. Reportedly, a big crowd of people scattered everywhere to take cover as the gunshots rang out. The club’s employees were too stunned to talk to the media personnel.
