FLORIDA: At least two people were killed and more than a dozen others injured in a shooting at a Florida nightclub, police said early Monday. The incident happened in the parking lot of Club Blu in Fort Myers at around 12:30 a.m. ET. The Fort Myers Police Department confirmed that two people were fatally shot and “at least 14-16” wounded. Two other scenes were connected to the incident, police added. A person of interest was detained at one of them. Earlier, officers said three people left the scene in a car with two later fleeing the vehicle, according to reporters. More than three dozen yellow evidence markers were visible outside the club where bullet casings had fallen. Reportedly, a big crowd of people scattered everywhere taking cover when the gunshots rang out. Employees were too shocked to talk to media. Before detaining the trio, authorities said the Fort Myers Police Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Office were “actively canvassing the area looking for other persons who may be involved in this incident.” Detectives had yet to determine a motive early Monday.
