ISLAMABAD: At least eight soldiers and a policeman were killed in two different attacks claimed by the Taliban in Kandahar and Badghis provinces on Tuesday. According to reports quoting Defense Ministry spokesman Daulat Waziri, the attack was made at a military outpost in Shah Wali Kot district in Kandhar province late last night in which eight troops were killed and seven others were left wounded. He said 10 Taliban fighters were also killed in the attack. Meanwhile, provincial Governor of Baghdis, Anwar Ishaqzai said that one policeman was killed in an attack of Taliban in Maqur district early on Tuesday morning. He said 11 insurgents were also killed in the attack. In a statement, Taliban claimed to have captured the district’s army and police headquarters.
