The American president’s ties with Russia first sprung up when back in May, he fired FBI director James Comey citing “this Russia thing” his main reason for doing so. Although initially, the white house claimed the director’s termination was due to his inadequate handling of Hillary Clinton’s emails investigation during the elections which reportedly had a huge effect on the outcome, however Trump later contradicted his staff’s statements. Now the POTUS is reportedly under investigation for the potential obstruction of justice by a special counsel that has been looking at Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections. The apparent allegations have to do with Trump’s efforts to get the ex FBI director to drop investigation against former national secirty advisor, Michael Flynn when Comey testified under oath that Trump told him this in a private meeting. The President has since denied that any such meeting took place before congress. This would be the first time throughout the ongoing investigation that Trump has been directly caught up in the matter. Flynn himself had come under suspicion for unauthorized and undisclosed ties with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and then further for deceiving Vice-president Mike Pence as to the nature of his dealings with the Russian official. However, the white house has not taken the release of this information from the FBI too well. They referred a request to and a spokesman for Trump’s personal attorney, Marc Kasowitz spoke to the Guardian and said: “The FBI leak of information regarding the president is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal.” However, the FBI’s press office has not yet responded for a request for comment. <iframe src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/iv-pUUBeF4w” width=”560″ height=”315″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen”></iframe>
