ISTANBUL: A car bomb and a suicide bomb killed 38 and injured 166 outside a football stadium in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Saturday night. The blasts took place after a match between two of Turkey´s top teams. While addressing at a press conference, the Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said, “17 of the wounded were undergoing surgery and another six were in intensive care.” The minister further added that the suicide bomb took place 45 seconds after the car bomb. The minister further revealed that around 10 people have been taken into custody based on the evidences gathered from the detonated vehicle. The Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, described these blasts as an attack on police and civilians. “As a result of these attacks, we have martyrs and wounded,” Erdogan said in a statement. As per the latest reports, there was no immediate claim of responsibility but the blasts came less than a week after Daesh urged its supporters to target Turkey´s security, military, economic and media facilities.
