VERONA: An Italian farmer, Dario Gambarin on Tuesday said that he carved a 135 meter portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin in his cornfield using a tractor, showcasing his artistic capabilities, in hope that the forthcoming G20 proves to be a success. “The reason for this new work is obvious, solutions to economic and migratory problems facing the world.” Gambarin’s told a foreign news agency, emphasizing that he hopes the G20 summit would bring fruitful results. Gambarin portrayed notable politicians including Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump into his field last year during the United States (US) presidential elections. The Trump portrait had ‘Ciao’ written on it, which translates to both ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ in Italian language. Drone footage showed the artist’s striking work on his field in the Castagnaro region near Verona. Putin’s name on his portrait is ploughed in Cyrillic (a writing style in Europe) along with Gambarin’s signature.
