The Indian Army has denied any such reports that say Uri Brigade Commander K Somashanker has been ‘shifted out’ in relation to Uri attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on September 18. Earlier, PTI had reported that Uri Brigade Commander K Sonashanker had been ‘shifted out’ of the sensitive brigade. Four Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists had attacked the rear facility of army brigade headquarters in Uri killing 19 Indian soldiers. One soldier succumbed to his injuries on Friday. Meanwhile, India carried out surgical strikes along LoC attacking six to eight terrorist launch pads. Since then there has been an escalation in tension between both the countries and villages in Punjab within 10 km range from LoC have been evacuated. On Friday, families of martyred soldiers welcomed the move by Indian government and army and said that ‘martyrdom of their kin was honored’.
