Los Angeles: Wonder Woman made her first appearance in 2016 film “Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice”. Her second 2017 movie scorched $103.3 million over a week, setting a record for most money made by a female director in opening week. Concerning to such a huge blockbuster leaves its sequel “Wonder Woman 2” to be a no-brainer. While many have claimed that Patty Jenkins will direct the sequel, no such deal has been signed yet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. signed Jenkins for a single film, while leading actor Gal Gadot has the sequel optioned into her contract. Patty has an immense praise for Gal Godat. “It would have been a totally different story, and I don’t know that I would have wanted to do the movie if it was with a lead Wonder Woman who I didn’t believe in,” Jenkins recently told CNN. “Not only do I believe in her, she blows me away,” Jenkins said. “It made it much easier to have the greatest Wonder Woman in the world put in the palm of my hand.” Diana Prince finds herself in Europe in her origin story, but Jenkins plans to move her stateside for the next film. “The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time.” Fans wanted Lynda Carter who played Wonder Woman in 1970’s TV Series, to appear in the film. Responding them in a Tweet Patty Said “Oh we tried, tried, tried. And we won’t stop trying”. Sources say the Warner Bros studio intends to begin negotiations with Jenkins shortly (although the exact timing is unclear). Jenkins could not only return to the director’s chair on Wonder Woman 2 but also could ink a more expansive deal that would allow her to work with DC.
