MIAMI: FC Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic said on Thursday that the club understands Neymar’s situation and will respect his decision, whatever it may be. Neymar, who has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with odds in favour of the French club, scored goals in both of Barca’s pre-season victories against Juventus and Manchester United. Talking to reporters in Miami, Rakitic said that Neymar’s decision, whether to stay with Barcelona or to join PSG will be respected by everyone at the Camp Nou. “We want him to stay and there’s not much more to say. We will understand his decision in any case and whatever he decides, we will respect it,” he said. The 29-year-old however added that everyone at Barca wants the Brazilian to stay as he remains an integral part of the roster. “I hope he sees things the same way as us. He already knows our opinion. He’s an important part of the dressing room, one of the family and we all want him to stay,” said Rakitic. When asked if there has been any change in Neymar’s behaviour due to the transfer talks, Rakitic said that it is the same as ever. “Everything is the same, he’s not been noticeably different. In the games he’s been at 100 percent, he’s not changed at all,” said the Croatian. Neymar trained with the club in Miami on Thursday and is expected to play in preseason clasico against arch-rivals Real Madrid this weekend.
